Ho partecipato a Wikimania 2024 grazie a una borsa di Wikimedia Italia.
In generale come anche a Singapore troppi i presentatori da remoto, e di nuovo qualcuno addirittura registrato. Diversi anche le presentazioni da parte di persone fisicamente presenti ma di livello non altissimo. Meglio le sessioni di discussione, se non altro perché sfruttano il fatto che le persone sono lì. Poca pausa fra una sessione o l'altra, con la conseguenza che le persone cominciavano a entrare prima che quella precedente fosse finita. Stanze spesso troppo piccole, rendendo difficile raggiungere posti liberi lontano dall'ingresso e spostarsi per fare foto. Ottime le pause caffè sparse per la venue e disponibili "24/24". Pranzo valido anche se non tipico.
Oltre a partecipare ho caricato 184 dell'evento su Commons. Fra queste anche quelle di un paio di sessioni che ho coperto come volontario per Wikimedia Foundation: Wikimedia & GenAI: A 360 movement panel one year later e Meet the 2024 Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees candidates.
