The Wiki Loves Monuments exhibition hosted in Firenze
Wikimedia has the honour to announce that Enegan Luce e Gas will be for the first time the sponsor of Wiki Loves Monuments. The cooperation will start with the exposure of WLM 2015 winning photos from 1 to 9 October at Palazzo Bastogi in Firenze, during the exhibition of the finalist works of EneganArt, the nation-wide contest of contemporary art organized by Enegan Luce e Gas. For Wiki Loves Monuments 2016, Enegan provides a special prize for the best natural monuments pictures. At the winner will assigned a 1.000 euro reward and a Treedom project's coupon.
ArcheoFOSS: Wikimedia Italia joins with two workshop
From 7 to 9 October in Cagliari will take place at Dipartimento di Storia, Beni Culturali e Territorio ("History, Cultural property and Territory Department") of Cagliari University the ArcheoFoss/GFoss 2016 Conference, a three days-meeting on the topic of the use of free software and the knowledge sharing instruments. At the end of the conference, will be organized an archeomapping party about the city urban archeology. Wikimedia Italia will join with two workshop about OpenStreetMap, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata. More info on Wikimedia Italia's blog.
OpenStreetMap in Genova with "Mappalonga"
Saturday October 1 Wikimedia Italia, OpenStreetMap's community, Liguria Digitale, Open Maps Liguria e GTER s.r.l. organize Mappalonga, a day dedicated to OpenStreetMap and the open data.
The event's purpose is the collectively contribution to the drawing of a freely consultable map of specific areas of the region. Furthermore, during the meeting it will be possible to take pictures of churches and other structures: the pictures will be uploaded Wikimedia Commons.

#ODS16 OpenDataSicilia Summer Edition
From 2 to 4 September took place in Messina #ODS16 OpenDataSicilia Summer Edition, the summer meeting organized by the #opendatasicilia community with the declared goal of spreading on territories the practice of open data. During the conference, it will be showed the features of Wiki Loves Monuments, the contest now in its fifth edition, to which this years has joined for the first time the metropolitan city of Palermo.
