Thursday, November 14th, a Fashion Editathon was held at the headquarters of the Rossimoda Footwear Museum, at Villa Foscarini Rossi in Stra. Thanks to the initiative of Europeana Fashion, the museum has agreed to upload to Wikimedia Commons [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Images_from_Museo_Rossimoda_della_calzatura images of some objects] from its own collection, releasing them under a free license. In addition, other institutions were involved, such as the University of Padua and IUAV of Venice; the event, directed by [[:it:Utente:Virginia Gentilini|Virginia Gentilini]] who was joined by some members of Wikimedia Italia, was indeed primarily thought for students of fashion design and marketing. After an initial presentation of Wikipedia and a guided tour of the museum, the students were divided into groups and worked for more than two hours in the drafting of some items of the encyclopedia.

The institutions involved were really satisfied with the outcome of the editathon and the participation of the young people was enthusiastic. We hope that this initiative will be just the first of a long series and that other cultural institutions and museums will allow the use of their images to enrich the articles of Wikipedia about them.
